When I began my writing career, I simply wrote what I knew, which was entertainment, job hunting, and surviving the workplace. I eventually branched out into technical writing, presentations, and general marketing writing.

"Content Writer" sounds vague. Let me explain:

Editorial Writer

I specialize in the entertainment business:

Cynopsis: I wrote for Cynopsis.com's Weekender for almost two years, covering television and new media.

Suite101.com. I was the site's Television columnist and blogger for two years.

Blogs

The best gig I have ever had was writing synopses and blogs on the TV shows "Entourage," "Gossip Girl," and "Samantha Who."  R.I.P. original incarnation of Media Village.com.  Read some samples here.

I also conceptualize ideas and write presentations for studios and production companies, and have experience writing proposals and brochures. Contact me for samples.

Voice Creation

Another aspect of content writing, and part of my job as a web content producer is VOICE CREATION, a concept as old as the printed word, and yet a relatively new idea for the internet. Oftentimes, as in the case of editorial writing, the voice is my own. But as the editor of IndustryNexus.com, the challenge was to create a cohesive voice among many voices - i.e. the site had to have a voice, but I didn't want to lose the writers' individual voices.

I also incorporate voice creation into the sites I manage at Booeep.com, a company that produces and manages celebrity websites. Part of my job is to learn the celebrity's voice and to write an entire site based on an intial interview and follow up questions.
